"I'll tell Michael Finney!" Those words are said every day in the Bay Area by embattled consumers -- and they get results. Michael Finney has been the Bay Area's Consumer Watchdog for well over a decade. Michael has investigated and uncovered government and industry wrong doing and brought important information to consumers. Michael is best known for solving problems for consumers. Every week he receives fifteen hundred requests for help and every one of them gets a personal reply. Michael has returned millions of dollars to consumers because he knows how to cut through red tape and he knows business and community leaders. Michael's consumer reporting has received many prestigious awards in broadcast journalism including honors from several Press Clubs, The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Radio Television News Directors Association and the Associated Press. Community groups such as Consumer Action, The Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights and The National Association of Consumer Advocates have also honored his work. Community service is important to Michael and he gives generously of his time. Each year his golf tournament raises tens of thousands of dollars to send low-income children to summer camp. Michael grew up in the Bay Area and graduated from California State University at Chico . Over the course of his 25-year broadcast career he worked in television news throughout the western United States before returning home in 1991. His program, “Consumer Talk with Michael Finney” will air each Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. In addition to his Saturday program, Michael can also be heard on the KGO Afternoon News every Friday with his world famous "Finney's Friday Free Stuff."
