Daly City Picks New Chief of Police
A San Jose police captain has been selected as the new Chief of Police in Daly City effective Monday, according to city officials.
Manny Martinez Jr. has worked in law enforcement for nearly three decades and as a police captain in San Jose since 2004, Daly City City Manager Patricia Martel said. He succeeds Police Chief Gary McLane.
Martinez has also served as a patrol division commander, bureau of investigations division commander and airport patrol division commander, according to Martel.
He received a Juris Doctor degree from Lincoln Law School in San Jose in 2004 and a Bachelor of Arts in Management in 1999 from St. Mary's College of California in Moraga, Martel said.
In addition, he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session 198 in 1999, Martel said.
