The Vallejo City Unified School District expects hundreds of parents, teachers and students to attend the two forums and protest the closures.

"Save Our School" rallies also are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. this morning at the Cave Elementary School and Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Hogan High School, district spokesman Jason Hodge said.

The district has lost 4,000 students in nine years and must close three or four schools to save $1.5 million, Hodge said.

Among the schools that could be closed are Hogan High School; Springstowne Middle School, which also would be sold; Vallejo Middle School; Cave Elementary School; Loma Vista Elementary School and Widenmann Elementary School.

The Vallejo Adult School could also be relocated, Hodge said.

Hogan High School is located at 850 Rosewood Ave., Vallejo.
